Casual Friday #17

Ok, without running a Google check, .. who can name this little fellow?

I was doing a little Hulu search the other day and stumbled on some old episodes of Lost In Space. I used to watch the reruns when I was a kid and enjoyed them thoroughly. So I'm lost in the alien landscape of my childhood when this little space monkey walks across it with that enormous fake head. I didn't notice it when I was 6 but burst out laughing now.

I had to draw him.

Here's my salute to aliens of early SciFi. (not SyFy)
"Bloop"

I also promised to mention when I finally get this guy posted on Ebay.

Casual Friday #16

Greetings all,
Very Casual today. I'm caught up with a lot of my work so I have a bit more time than usual, went out to lunch with my Dad, and got to draw Martin The Warrior on a beautifully warm, dry, and sunny Friday.

Happy.

So, for any Redwall fans out there.
"Martin"

X-Men Archives Trading Card Set

The X-Men Card set has now been released.
I was able to do about 150 full color sketches for the set and I was overall pretty happy with the way they came out. This set was right on the heels of the JLA card set in my working schedule (although that ones not out yet) so I was loose, very warmed up, and ready to try some new techniques. I have all the cards posted here at my X-MEN COMIC SPACE GALLERY. In addition to the classic style, you'll be able to see painted cards and other various themed cards.
I also teamed up with a fellow card artist, Bard, on a few cards. I did the pencils and he painted in oils over them and did a really nice job. Martineck/Bard Sketches (Scan to the bottom of this link) Interestingly enough, Bard was supposed to be working on this set also, but for some reason wasn't able to get to it. So, these are the only Bard cards released in the set.

Here's a little eye candy of one of my Storm cards.

Casual Friday #6.5

"Huh? " you ask. I know it's Tuesday but this early Casual Friday #6 Posting has always bothered me. Although it was a Friday that Wolverine was drawn for a completely different reason, it's the wrong size, and just didn't fit the spirit nor was it anywhere near casual.

My schedule is starting
to open up a little as I've been able to finish up a bunch of jobs this past week and catch up on other crap I've had to put off. So I'm trying to get to things like this that I'm looking forward to crossing off the list.

So, while catching up on old episodes of "Alf", here's the first one to get crossed off.

Casual Friday #15

Another fast & busy week and overall, things are looking good. I sat down last night, put my feet up, and watched a movie while I worked on that days Casual Friday. I was in the mood to go bloody, gory, and all horror like but was also in the mood to try my hand at some Cerebus. Combining them wouldn't normally be hard but I drew this while we watched Benny & Joon. Great movie but it doesn't exactly bring out the blood lust in a person.

So here's my not so bloody rendition of Cerebus.
